The Worcester Strategic Plan is a joint community initiative led by the Worcester Education Collaborative and Worcester Regional Research Bureau in concert with the Worcester Public Schools. Inspired by The Urgency for Excellence: Considerations for the School Committee and New Superintendent of Schools in Worcester, the initiative will establish key priorities for public education in the district and inform decision-making for the schools.
The initiative is driven by a multi-tier committee structure comprised of diverse city, district, and community members:
The Advisory Board includes 50+ community and district leaders who provide strategic feedback and consultation.
The Coordinating Committee represents a subset of the Advisory Committee who ensure the effective implementation of the planning process steps and oversee various subcommittees.
Subcommittees represent members of the Advisory Committee as well as additional community members who are thought leaders in each area. Subcommittees investigate and articulate the core problems of practice for their area as well as recommend strategies to address these challenges.
Subcommittees:
- Access and Availability of Higher Level Learning
- Educator Resources and Development
- Governance, Finance, and Operations
- Instructional Resources and Technology
- Social Emotional Learning and School Climate
